Locarno Shorts Weeks 2024: 29 Days, 29 Short Films
#LocarnoShortsWeeks is back for its sixth edition, this year covering the 29 days of February 2024 and showcasing some of the
Festival’s most eye-popping, heart-stopping, mind-altering international short films. It is available completely for free around the world, which is made possible with the support of @swisslife.
Established masters and young avant-gardists, new talents and familiar faces - together they rub shoulders in a curated selection that suggests the sheer range of contemporary filmmaking in the short form. Superstitious people claim that leap years are unlucky, but #LocarnoShortsWeeks rejects that and shines with optimism. Short films, long pleasure.
Later in February, a selection of the films in #LocarnoShortsWeeks will be available on #PlaySuisse for a longer period with audio description and subtitles in several languages. More on that to come!
Remember to vote for your favorite and win your experience at Locarno77.

I go back and forth with this guy. Sometimes I think he is a clever artist, yet sometimes he seems like a stoned idiot who somehow made a couple films.
It is the best way to keep us divided by destroying places such as pubs as these where environments to `let off steam` and exchange ideas about what is actually going on. Too dangerous for the powers that be. Best to keep people at home watching crap TV to keep us sedated along with prescription drugs. People have to Wake Up!!!!
he's literally me
herzog operated, for most of his career, near the utmost extent of frugality. "apocalypse now" had a budget of $31 million, while "aguirre" had a budget of just $370,000: and this was before digital, when film itself actually cost money. so when you're making a movie like "fitzcarraldo" or "aguirre" on a budget like that, and you actually have to buy the film in addition to everything else, you don't have much to spare for "coverage." he talks about this in "conquest of the useless," which is a fantastic book
true director
Herzog about guns
I remember her in Eve of Destruction and watching her closely. She sounded American for sure, but always appeared like she was trying hard to sound like it. But a great job for an actress whose native tongue is not English!
That movie changed my whole perspective on life and I became a really bad person.
❤❤
👏🏼👏🏼
❤
I just remembered that Gummo had a budget of 80 mill.
Vous avez pris un coup de vieux, mon cher.
It's great that he's simultaneously evolving with the times and is yet still the same person who appeared on Letterman and spoke with Werner Herzog at Telluride. Harmony is great.
🏆 ZAR ❤
Meryl Streep’s coin purse/ coke sack. lol!
INCREDIBLE film! I just saw it last night and I’m still blown away, just digesting bits in my mind today. Masterpiece of filmmaking, wow! Yes, I did hate the character of Bobita at first but by the middle of the film I was so carried away by the acting of Ms Manolache and Radu Jude’s mind blowing film that by the time we got to the old Uranus neighborhood, I had tears in my eyes. Love love love Bobita now. Great interview! Radu Jude- true creative artist❤ Do Not Expect too Much/End of World is a brilliant film. My number one favorite movie this year.
Radu is the best
Stepne is one of the best movies I ever saw. So intense, well directed and performed. Its a treasure!
Quelle voix insupportable
Thank you Ali Ahmadzadeh, and all the team for this amazing film. You are a model, a reference figure for having the courage of speaking throughout this film about the realities of today’s Iran.
He's channeling Jack Horner, exotic filmmaker.
That tattoo on his right hand tells you who he serves and belongs to.
Poseidon?
❤❤
Thank you Locarno for not crediting me as the one that did the interview 🥴

If I was gay he'd be my crush. 🥰
yeah, it was already clear that it was JUST ENTERTAINMENT for him since the day he took his first empty cue card.
🙏🏻♥️🙏🏽♥️🙏
Špijun, dzukela!
She’s gorgeous ! Is she single??
Gummo walked, so A24 could run
I have to congratulate the interviewer. Good questions, good research, good understanding of the film and the different layers and backgrounds...and a great pace on the timing and body language. Jude always gives you more than what you can expect, but anyway a good interviewer makes always the difference.
some random dude on the left.
I've always been fascinated by this actor.
“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it's dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.” -Tupac Shakur

Can't wait to see the film!
Margaret Thatcher broke the unions and took away free school milk, And did so much harm to the industrial north of Britain. Ken Loacheś films are exceptionally great at showing the suffering caused by that woman and the like. Look at the world through the eyes of the poor!
Vito Cuti
Second Godard, love all his films
Jeez his voice is really deep…
His voice is actually high when Lambert Wilson voices King Magnifico in Wish and Baloo from The Jungle Book 2016 live-action if you watch and hear him in the French dub.
watching this after the 95-99 Letterman appearances is amazing. Glad Harmony is still around. Watching Gummo when i was 13 was on par with reading On The Road or Fear And Loathing
interviewer looks so bored
the interviewer is literally killing him
Ken Loach, Mike Leigh, Terence Davies - hope and compassion in dark times. Thank you!
Lo sguardo speciale di Anarita sul mondo contemporaneo ha creato le sue opere incredibilmente belle..
Fantastic film director - Makes a change to see reality rather than the usual hollywood nonsense ! : )
